Add a place we are missing
Does this page cover all of Tirana?

It covers every category Fontavio has enough mapped places for in Tirana today. A category appears here once enough places in it have been added and confirmed, so a missing one means thin coverage rather than nothing on the ground.

What if a place has moved or is gone?

Report it from the app. A person reviews it, and water-safety reports are looked at first.

Is the tap water safe to drink in Albania?

Usually, as long as the water is running. Contamination is rarely the problem in Albania: in 2024, WHO and UNICEF found that 96.6% of people had home water free from it. The problem is supply. Only 70.8% had water whenever they needed it, and that is also the share with safely managed drinking water. Figures, sources and the dates they were checked: https://fontavio.com/albania/tap-water/

Is the water from a public tap or fountain the same as the tap water in Albania?

Not necessarily. Village fountains often run on a local spring or well instead of the treated town supply, and nobody may ever have tested them. In town, a public tap can be dry during the hours the mains are off, and the first water to come through afterwards has been sitting in the pipes. Before you fill up, check the spout is clean and let the water run clear for a few seconds. Found one that works? Add it to Fontavio or leave a review, and mention what time of day it was running.
