Add a place we are missingDoes this page cover all of Krefeld?
It covers every category Fontavio has enough mapped places for in Krefeld today. A category appears here once enough places in it have been added and confirmed, so a missing one means thin coverage rather than nothing on the ground.
What if a place has moved or is gone?
Report it from the app. A person reviews it, and water-safety reports are looked at first.
Is the tap water safe to drink in Germany?
Yes. Germany's Federal Environment Agency rates water from the large supplies as very good, with more than 99.9% of monitored samples meeting nearly every microbiological and chemical requirement. WHO and UNICEF put safely managed drinking water at 99.9% for 2024. Figures, sources and the dates they were checked: https://fontavio.com/germany/tap-water/
Is the water from a public tap or fountain the same as the tap water in Germany?
Not necessarily. Old pipes affect an outdoor tap just as much as a kitchen one, so a tap on the wall of an old building can give different water from a brand-new Trinkbrunnen on the same street. Ornamental fountains aren't for drinking, and some say so with a kein Trinkwasser sign. Look for a sign and check the spout before you drink. If you find a Trinkbrunnen that's running, add it to Fontavio or review it. New ones go in every year, and plenty of people don't know where they are.
