Water services in Cuenca
Fontavio maps public drinking water, fill-up taps, toilets, showers, laundry, dump stations and marine pump-outs in Cuenca, from open map data and from the people using them.
Add a place we are missingDoes this page cover all of Cuenca?
It covers every category Fontavio has enough mapped places for in Cuenca today. A category appears here once enough places in it have been added and confirmed, so a missing one means thin coverage rather than nothing on the ground.
What if a place has moved or is gone?
Report it from the app. A person reviews it, and water-safety reports are looked at first.
Is the tap water safe to drink in Spain?
Yes. In 2023, 99.1% of the test results reported to Spain's national drinking water system found the water fit to drink, and WHO and UNICEF put safely managed drinking water at 99.5% for 2024. Figures, sources and the dates they were checked: https://fontavio.com/spain/tap-water/
Is the water from a public tap or fountain the same as the tap water in Spain?
Not necessarily. Not every fuente is on the drinking supply. The sign tells you: agua potable is drinking water, and agua no potable means don't drink it. Fountains on beaches may be showers, and springs in the mountains are untested. Use fountains marked agua potable and check the spout. When you find one, add it to Fontavio or review it, for walkers on the Camino and city visitors in the summer heat.
